Local Woman Charged In Deadly Head-On Crash

A local woman was jailed Wednesday, charged with intoxication manslaughter with a motor vehicle in connection with a head-on crash on a busy highway that left a 29-year-old man dead.

NOLANVILLE (August 28, 2013)—Dana Beth Tackett, 29, of China Spring, was in the Bell County Jail Wednesday charged with intoxication manslaughter with a motor vehicle in connection with a head-on crash in July in Nolanville that left a 29-year-old man dead.

The accident happened at around 1:30 a.m. on July 10 on U.S. 190 in at the Main Street overpass in Nolanville.

Officials say a woman was driving east in the westbound lanes of the highway when her car collided head-on with the eastbound car in which two men were riding.

One of the vehicles ended up dangling off of the overpass.

Dante Fair of Killeen, died in a local hospital after the collision.

The driver of the car, Maota Esau, Jr., was injured.

Tackett, who was identified as the driver of the other vehicle, was also hospitalized.

She was arrested on Tuesday.
