KILLEEN (November 29, 2012)---Calandra Monee Stanfield of Killeen was indicted Wednesday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an argument with her ex-girlfriend that resulted in a shooting.

The incident happened just after midnight on Nov. 11 at an apartment at 3109 Atkinson in Killeen.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Stanfield sent text messages to the victim and then a short time later arrived uninvited at the apartment the victim shares with another woman.

Stanfield argued with the victim's roommate and then with the victim, the affidavit said, and the two ended up fighting.

The victim's roommate, and a fourth woman who drove Stanfield to the apartment, tried to separate the pair, but as they did, Stanfield shot the victim in the abdomen with a .380 caliber handgun, the affidavit said.

Officers recovered a single .380 shell casing at the scene and later, after locating Stanfield, found a .380 caliber handgun in the back of her waistband, the affidavit said.

Stanfield initially was ordered held but was released from the Bell County jail after posting a $100,000 bond.

The victim was taken to Scott & White Hospital, treated, and later released, authorities said.
