WHITNEY (March 24, 2012)—Federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents, Hill County sheriff’s deputies and Whitney police raided a house Friday in Whitney and recovered methamphetamine, guns and other weapons.

Hill County Sheriff Jeffrey Lyon said a man was arrested, apparently in Llano County, in connection with the investigation, but his name was not released.

Lyon said, however, the man is known to DEA agents as a major supplier of methamphetamine from the Dallas-Fort area to Killeen.

Officers served a search warrant on a house at 5319 N. Farm-to-Market 933 where they seized almost 30 grams of “Ice” methamphetamine that was packaged and ready for sale.

Police also seized 30 loaded firearms, including an illegal sawed-off shotgun, and several knives and swords from the residence.

At least one of the firearms was earlier reported stolen by Fort Worth police, Lyon said.

Officers also seized two vehicles, a four-wheeler and other property.

In addition to the man who was arrested, an unnamed woman who was at the house was taken to the Hill County Jail.

Lyon said other suspects remained at large Saturday.

Authorities were tipped to the drug house after residents in the area reported several incidents of unusual activity at the house.

A Department of Public Safety air unit also participated in the raid.
