WACO (July 16, 2011)—Bobby Joe Buckner, 32, was in the McLennan County Jail Saturday awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after he was sentenced Friday to 50 years in prison for sexual assault of a child.
Buckner was convicted Friday morning in a case in which the victim just recently came forward to reveal the sexual assault, which happened several years ago.
Staci Smith and Hilary LaBorge of the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
