MEXIA (February 18, 2011)--Police say an autopsy report shows the Jan. 27 shooting death of a Mexia man whose body was found lying in the street was a suicide.

Bufford Randall Booth, 43, suffered a single gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by Limestone County Justice of the Peace Ray Jones.

Jamie Lynn Thompson, 39, who was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the leg, was flown by helicopter to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Officers found Booth and Thompson when they arrived at a Kaufman Street apartment complex in response to a report of a civil disturbance.
