Crash Claims Lives Of Two Teenagers

BOSQUE COUNTY (May 16, 2011—Two Central Texas teenagers are dead after a two-vehicle accident that.

The Department of Public Safety says Abigail Waschsman, 18, of Hillsboro died from injuries suffered in Friday's crash.

Joseph Dowdy later died at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The DPS says a preliminary investigation shows that Dowdy's 1999 Honda Civic ran a stop sign near the intersection of Farm-to-Market 2841 and County Road 1606 around 7:30 p.m. Friday, striking a Dodge Nitro.

Washsmann was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said.

Washsmann was wearing a seatbelt, but Dowdy was not, DPS said.

The DPS said the driver of the Nitro, Sabrina Michaud, 32, of Clifton was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center where she was treated, and released.

DPS says the accident remains under investigation
