WACO (February 13, 2013)— Police were looking Wednesday night for a man who picked out four snakes at a Waco pet shop, bypassed the cash register and then pulled out a knife as employees tried to stop him from leaving the store.

The robber was reported just before 6 p.m. at the PetSmart at 4600 Franklin Ave. in Waco.

An employee told police the man wanted to purchase a python, a black king snake, a corn snake and a black Mexican snake and when he had them, he walked past the cash register and toward the door.

When employees tried to stop him, he pulled out a knife and threatened them.

The snakes were valued at about $200.

Officers were reviewing security camera footage Wednesday night.
