AUSTIN (December 29, 2013) Nicolas Wyzycowski, who’s charged in a hit-and-run crash in Austin that left two dead and four others seriously injured, had a blood-alcohol content that was more than three times the legal Texas limit, arrest affidavits show.
Wyzycowski ran from the scene of the crash Friday night wearing only a towel, authorities said.
A witness pointed him out to officers at a nearby apartment complex.
His blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.27 percent at a hospital to which he was taken for treatment of minor injuries, the affidavits show.
The state’s legal limit is 0.08 percent.
Margaret Howard, 60, and her son, Cale, 18, were killed in the crash at around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses said Wyzycowski's pickup, which was traveling at between 80 and 100 miles per hour, collided with their car.
Four people in a third vehicle involved in the crash were hurt.
One suffered a broken neck and another suffered a broken back.
