WACO (October 16, 2012)—Ruben Miguel Alaniz, 27, has been charged in connection with the knifepoint robbery of two people late last month on the historic Waco Suspension Bridge.

Alaniz was served with aggravated robbery warrants at the McLennan County Jail where he was already in custody on an unrelated charge.

The robbery was reported at around 1:45 a.m. on Sept. 27.

The two victims said they were walking across the bridge when a man approached them, pulled out a knife and demanded their property.

The robber escaped with a small amount of cash and some of the victims’ belongings.
