WACO (May 19, 2013)--Police have identified the victim of a drowning at Lake Waco as Christopher Neil Lansford, 24.

The drowning happened around 5:00 p.m. Sunday near the Twin Bridges Park.

Sgt. Phil Thompson with Waco PD says Lansford, his wife, and another person were on a float going from the swimming area to the boat ramp.

They made it across when Lansford decided to swim back to get their vehicle.

That's when he went under water and did not resurface.

The Game Warden along with Lake Rangers and the Waco Fire Department searched the water for over an hour before recovering the body.
