BELL COUNTY (August 15, 2014) Christopher Anthony Young, 25, of Bruceville-Eddy, was in the Bell County Jail Friday charged in the theft of a vehicle in which a state trooper found him sleeping early Thursday morning.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper spotted the sleeping man in the vehicle at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday along FM 1237 west of Troy, Bell County sheriff’s Lt. Donnie Adams said Friday.

While talking with the man, the trooper saw tools in the vehicle associated with burglaries and as well as household items, Adams said.

When questioned, the man told the trooper “he did not know who the items belonged to or where they came from,” Adams said.

The trooper arrested Young after determining the vehicle had been reported stolen in Temple, Adams said.

Young was charged on Friday.

The vehicle has been returned to its owner, Adams said.
