KILLEEN (December 21, 2013) Killeen police are investigating after a teenager was shot and killed Friday evening.
Police responded to the 1300 block of Fox Creek Drive just before 5:30 p.m. after receiving an emergency call about a shooting.
Once on scene, officers found a 15-year-old on the sidewalk who had been shot.
The teenager was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was ordered.
Police, said the teen and another man were involved in a dispute inside a car parked along Fox Creek.
They say at some point during the dispute, the driver shot the teen.
Police say an initial investigation found that the teen was able to escape from the vehicle after he was shot, but quickly collapsed on the sidewalk.
Killeen police officers were able to locate the driver shortly after responding to the scene and took him into custody.
His name has not yet been released.
Formal charges were pending late Friday evening.
He is currently held in the Killeen City Jail.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
