LUBBOCK (January 19, 2014) Daniel Moreno, 33, who Lubbock police say was shot by an officer at whom he aimed a gun remains in critical condition.
Moreno was shot after officers responded to a report that a person was threatening residents with a gun.
After Moreno was shot, officers found two women they initially believed had been shot, but they later discovered the women had both been severely beaten.
Moreno has been charged with attempted capital murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
The women were taken to University Medical Center where they were treated and then later released.
The officer who fired at Moreno has been placed on paid administrative leave.
