KILLEEN (April 14, 2014) A man remained hospitalized Monday after he was found at a Killeen residence, having suffered several gunshot wounds, police said.
Officers were sent at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday to a residence in the 900 block of Evergreen Drive where they located a man who’d been shot several times in the back.
He was taken by ambulance to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition, Killeen police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said.
The 27-year-old victim was later transferred to Scott & White Hospital in Temple in stable condition, police said.
Officers were told that the victim was inside the residence when he heard knocks at the door.
Two men were standing at the door and asked the victim the whereabouts of person the victim told police he did not know.
One of the men pulled a handgun and began shooting, Miramontez said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
