Man Trying To Break Up Fight At Local Bar Beaten, Stabbed

WACO (November 24, 2013) A 39-year-old man who tried to break up a fight Saturday night at a bar in South Waco was struck with a beer bottle, beaten and stabbed, police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Sunday.

One of the attackers was a woman, police said.

Officers responded at around 9 p.m. Saturday to the A&D Tejano Bar at 423 South 18th St.

The woman struck the victim, whose name was not released Sunday, on the back of the head with a beer bottle as he tried to break up the fight, Swanton said.

He fell to the floor and while he was down a man beat him, Swanton said.

He then got up and started to go after the woman who hit him with the bottle, but the woman pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the face, chest and back, Swanton said.

The two attackers drove off before officers arrived, Swanton said.

The victim was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center where he required surgery for injuries to his face, Swanton said.

He’s expected to survive, Swanton said.

No arrests have been made.
