WACO (April 3, 2013)--A Hubbard man accused of exposing himself to a child in a local Walmart store was sentenced to both a prison term and probation Tuesday in Waco after pleading guilty to two counts of indecent exposure.
State District Judge Matt Johnson, acting on a recommendation from a 19th District Court jury, sentenced Christopher Wade Moore, 43, to 10 years in state prison on the first count of the charge and assessed a $10,000 fine.
Johnson then sentenced Moore to serve 10 years on probation on the second count after he completes the prison term.
Moore pleaded guilty to the two-count charge on Monday and opted to have a jury decide his punishment.
After testimony on Tuesday in the punishment phase, the jury was out only about 20 minutes before returning its verdict, a district attorney's office spokeswoman said.
She said because Moore likely will serve fewer than 10 years in prison, the probation sentence ensures he will be monitored for an extended period of time, she said.
During the punishment hearing, jurors were shown a surveillance video from the Bellmead WalMart that showed a man exposing himself to a young child.
Bellmead police arrested Moore in December 2011.
