ROBINSON (July 21, 2012)—Matthew Ray Easley, 56, who was found on July 11 in his home in Robinson with massive head injuries from an attack, has died in a local hospital, police said.

Easley was removed from life support and died Friday evening, police said.

Relatives found Easley unconscious in his home just before noon on July 11.

He was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

He never regained consciousness, police said.

On July 13, Clinton Douglas Mills, 30, of Hewitt, was arrested on an aggravated assault warrant stemming from the attack and the charge has been upgraded to murder, police said.

He remained jailed in lieu of bonds totaling more than $520,000, according to online jail records.

Easley was the victim of an earlier attack in August 2010.

Police don’t believe the two were related.
