Man Who Tried To Ram 3 Police Vehicles During Chase Arrested

WACO (June 16, 2014) Donshay Dejuan Carmichael, 24, was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail after a brief high-speed chase during which the fleeing driver tried three times to ram police vehicles.

Carmichael was ordered held on bonds totaling $239,000, charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, and one count each of evading arrest in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and driving while license invalid enhanced, jail records showed.

Carmichael was arrested just after 6:30 p.m. Friday on Primrose Drive after the brief chase, which started after street crimes officers attempted to pull him over near the intersection of Primrose and Robinson Drive, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

During the chase, the fleeing driver tried at least three times to ram police vehicles with his car, Swanton said.

The chase ended near South 25th and Primrose, where Carmichael was arrested, Swanton said.
