WACO (December 5, 2012)--Waco police arrested a man and a woman overnight after a series of auto burglaries in restaurant and nightclub parking lots including one incident in which a vehicle was set on fire.
Officers and firefighters responded just before 10:30 p.m.
Tuesday to a restaurant at 1200 North Valley Mills Dr., where a vehicle had been burglarized and set on fire.
After that incident, police received reports of vehicle break-ins in the parking lots of Oakley’s at 816 North Valley Mills Dr., Mr Magoos at 4601 Hodde, Two Minnies at 641 Ruby and the Salty Dog Sports Bar & Grill at 2004 North Valley Mills.
As officers investigated the burglaries, a man and woman were spotted in the area with property taken from the vehicle in the Mr Magoos parking lot, police said.
The two were arrested after a short foot chase and items from all of the burglaries were recovered, police said.
Tarrie Lynn Byrom, 27, and Jack McCarter IV, 29, were in the McLennan County Jail Wednesday.
Byrom, who was ordered held on bonds totaling $30,000, is charged with four counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and one count of arson and is also named in two burglary of a motor vehicle warrants in Coryell County.
McCarter was ordered held on bonds totaling $25,000 and is charged with four counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and one count of arson.
