PLANO (July 31, 2014) A woman accused of helping operate brothels in North Texas that masqueraded as massage parlors could be sentenced to as much as four years in prison in a plea deal.
Yu Lin Chang appeared in U.S. District Court in Plano and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the U.S., stemming from prostitution operations in Plano, Dallas and Hurst.
Last year authorities raided nine storefront operations where most of the women working as prostitutes were from China or other parts of Asia.
Quyen Thuc Ha of Richardson was accused of paying more than $300,000 in bribes to undercover officers for what he thought was police protection for the businesses.
He pleaded guilty last week to two counts of bribery and faces as much as 10 years in prison.
