TEMPLE (July 10, 2012)--Temple Police Special Investigations Unit seized more than 88 pounds of marijuana and more than $13,000 in cash from a Temple resident on Monday.
Temple Police arrested Danny Saavedra, 29, of Temple, just after 10 p.m., after a search warrant was carried out at a residence in the 700 block of North 9th Street.
Members seized more than 88 pounds of marijuana in packages, more than $13,000 in cash, and other items were also seized, according to police.
Saavedra was transported to Bell County Jail, charged with felony possession of marijuana over 50 lbs.
“The case will be reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney's Office Tuesday or Wednesday, and bond will be set thereafter,” law enforcement officials said.
