WACO (February 17, 2012)--Joe Angel Felan, 24, was sentenced to four prison terms Friday for a 2009 drive-by shooting that left one man dead and another man and a woman injured.

The 54th District Court jury sentenced Felan to 70 years and a $10,000 fine for the Sept. 2 12, 2009 murder of Carnelyuis "Che-Che" Fields, who was found lying on the sidewalk at North 9th Street and Tennessee Avenue.

The jury also sentenced Felan to three 20-year terms for aggravated assault for shooting LaToya Hamilton and Jamie Toney, who were walking with Fields at the time of the shooting.

The judge ordered the sentences to be served concurrently.

Two lawyers from the Texas Attorney General's office and defense counsel spent Monday seating a jury.

The state prosecuted the case because McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna represented Felan before Reyna was elected to the prosecutor's office.

Quinton Denodrae Henry, 39, who was Felan's co-defendant in the case, already has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after he was found guilty at trial last November.
