BELL COUNTY (January 6, 2012)—A man named in an arrest warrant after a teenager was slashed during a New Year’s party has turned himself in to Bell County deputies.

Hector Rendon, 35, turned himself in to the Bell County Jail just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

Jail documents indicated Rendon’s bond had been set at $100,000 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Rendon was wanted in connection with a fight at a New Year's party outside of Belton that left a teenager injured.

The fight was reported at around 3 a.m. Sunday in the 6700 block of Lanita Drive outside of Belton, the Bell County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Deputies weren't able to find anyone in the area involved in the incident, but at around the same time, Belton police received a report that a 16-year-old boy had received a seven-inch cut on the neck during a fight at a party on Lanita Drive.

The teenager was taken to Scott & White Hospital by ambulance.

Information about the severity of his injury and his condition weren't released Thursday.
