Minor Earthquake Shakes Parts Of Texas

OVILLA (October 16, 2013)--A minor earthquake shook parts of Texas Wednesday.

The 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck at 8:37 a.m. Wednesday, centered just west of Ovilla, about 20 miles south of Dallas, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office said it had no immediate reports of anyone hurt or damage from the earthquake.

Ovilla is a town of about 3,500.
