More Questions Than Answers After 4 Die In Texas House Fire

HALTOM CITY (January 12, 2013)--Investigators continue to search for clues to the cause of a North Texas house fire that left a woman and three of her grandchildren dead, but at this point they have more questions than answers.

Authorities traced the fire in Haltom City to the living room of the home near a live Christmas tree, but Haltom City Emergency Management spokesman Perry Bynum said investigators still don't know what started the fire Thursday evening or why the victims couldn't escape.

The woman's daughter, Yessenia Garces, lived in the house with her two children, but she was at work when the fire started.

Haltom City fire-rescue officials on identified the victims Friday as Maritza Garces, 52, 2-month-old Jaime Moran Jr., Jayleen Rayos, 3, and Gene Perrera, 5.

Garces said she's devastated by the loss of her mother, daughter son and nephew.

About 100 people gathered at a candlelight vigil in the Fort Worth suburb Friday night to remember the victims.
