More Than Two-Dozen Nabbed In Texas Meth Sweep

MIDLAND (June 6, 2014) More than two-dozen suspects were arrested in a crackdown on a West Texas-based methamphetamine ring linked to California and Nevada, prosecutors in Midland said.

A total of 29 people were arrested Thursday or were already in custody.

They face federal or state charges.

Authorities were seeking nine more suspects Friday.

Investigators say the meth was funneled through San Diego, Las Vegas and Dallas and then into West Texas.

Federal indictments unsealed Thursday in Midland include charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Some defendants were indicted earlier on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Some suspects face state parole violation counts or other warrants in the Odessa-based ring operating since September.

The defendants are from Midland, Odessa, Amarillo, San Diego and Las Vegas.
