TEMPLE (September 18, 2012)—A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in an accident on Southwest H.K. Dodgen Loop in front of the Fairfield Inn in Temple.

The motorcyclist was westbound on the loop when he lost control of the bike and was thrown to the pavement, police said.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Scott & White Hospital with what police said were serious head injuries.

He was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The accident closed down the loop westbound from 31st Street.

Early Tuesday evening, two lanes were open to traffic, but the Temple Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team was still at the scene and the far left traffic lane and U-turn lane were still both closed, but the roadway was cleared by around 6 p.m.

Other details weren’t immediately available.
