GARLAND (July 4, 2012)--A 22-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike struck the back of a vehicle as he fled from police in the Dallas suburb of Garland.
The pursuit started after officers tried to pull the man over after clocking him at more than 100 miles per hour Tuesday evening on an interstate highway.
Police say as the motorcyclist lost control as he approached an intersection where his bike struck the back of a Cadillac.
The rider was ejected and the motorcycle came to rest on the sidewalk.
A woman waiting for a bus sustained a minor injury when the motorcycle struck her, but she refused hospital treatment.
The name of the motorcyclist wasn’t immediately released.
Police will conduct a review of the chase to ensure it was within guidelines.
