FORT WORTH (June 4, 2014) Cedric D. McGinnis, Jr., 22, was jailed Wednesday, charged with capital murder in the deaths of three women whose bodies were found in a home in Fort Worth.
His bond was set at $1.25 million.
Relatives of the women told reporters that the victims’ throats were slashed, but police said Wednesday that two of the women died of gunshot wounds to the head and the third of stab wounds to her torso.
Officers found the bodies at around 8 a.m. Tuesday in a single-story home, Fort Worth police Sgt. Raymond Bush said.
Relatives said the women were related and identified the victims as Cynthia Serrano, 48; her daughter April Serrano, 21, and her sister, Cathy de Leon, 35.
McGinnis is the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims, police said.
McGinnis admitted to the killings under questioning and told detectives where evidence from the scene could be found, police said.
It's believed the women were attacked at some point after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
