KILLEEN(July 9, 2011) - Highway 190 West in Killeen was shut down Saturday evening after an accident involving multiple vehicles.
The accident happened at around 6:30 p.m.on Highway 190 between Stan Schlueter and W.S. Young.
According to police, a group of three bikers was headed westbound when one motorcycle slowed down suddenly.
The other two motorcycles crashed into the first one.
That wreck caused five other vehicles to collide.
One biker was taken to Scott & White Hospital by helicopter.
His injuries were considered life-threatening, and it does not appear he was wearing a helmet.
Another person was taken to Metroplex Hospital by ambulance.
There was no word on that person's condition Saturday night.
Traffic was diverted on Highway 190 all the way to Central Texas Expressway for more than two hours.
