MESQUITE (February 2, 2014) Police were investigating the deaths of two men in Mesquite as a murder-suicide after witnesses told officers that a 55-year-old man shot his daughter's 32-year-old boyfriend and then killed himself.
Officers responding to a call Saturday night found the 32-year-old in the living room with a gunshot wound to the chest and the 55-year-old in the backyard with a gunshot wound to his chest.
The older man was found in possession of a firearm, police said.
The younger man was taken to a Dallas hospital, where he died.
Witnesses told police that the men argued prior to the shootings.
Police say the older man was staying at the house with his adult daughter and her boyfriend.
