(November 8, 2012)—Residents from Lampasas County to Killeen to Belton to Temple reported seeing mysterious lights in the sky Thursday evening, but there was a simple explanation.
Officials say the lights were flares fired during a training exercise at Fort Hood.
Witnesses said the lights appeared in the sky and hovered for about five minutes and then went out only to be replaced by another set of lights.
