BELL COUNTY (July 13, 2012)—The body of a man who went under at a Central Texas Lake back in June has been found.

The body of Jean-Baptise Kesse was found Saturday night on Lake Belton.

He had been missing since June 28 when he fell off a boat in the lake.

Keese was a service member based in Washington State who was visiting the area, authorities said.

His body was found around 7:35 p.m. Saturday.

A justice of the peace pronounced him dead just after 8 p.m.

A Texas Parks and Wildlife Department dive team used a towable deep-water sonar device during the search.

The new sonar system, which the department recently purchased, was attached to a cable and towed on the lake.

Sonar systems currently in use on the department’s law enforcement boats scan to a depth of only about 40 feet.

Rescuers were sent to the lake at around 5:40 p.m. on June 28 after a caller reported that the man fell from the boat in the area of Arrowhead Point near the Lake Belton Dam and didn't resurface.
