MCLENNAN COUNTY (August 13, 2014) State troopers, sheriff's deputies and officials from the McLennan County District Attorney's office raided a tavern Wednesday morning near Lorena, seized gambling machines and arrested a Moody man.

Officers served a search warrant just after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Just One More Tavern, at 4677 Spring Valley Rd., Chief McLennan County Deputy Matt Cawthon said.

Authorities arrested Christopher Deskins, 39, of Moody on a warrant charging illegal gambling, DPS Trooper D.L. Wilson said, but later released him because he was so cooperative with investigators so he could tend to some personal business before turning himself in later this week.

The officers also recovered an undisclosed amount of currency during the raid and were said to be looking for more suspects.

Complaints from residents led to the raid Wednesday, Wilson said.
