TEMPLE (August 13, 2014) Police Wednesday identified a man and a woman who died in a shooting Tuesday night in a Temple neighborhood as Shamara Henry, 30, and Quista Henry, both of Killeen.

They did not say whether the two were related.

Another man was wounded in the shooting, but his name was not immediately released.

Shamara Henry died at the scene and Quista Henry died later at Baylor Scott & White Hospital of what evidently a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said Wednesday.

Officers found the victims after responding at around 8 p.m.
Tuesday to a report of gunfire in the 1000 block of South 29th Street in Temple, Wilcox said.

The first officers to arrive reported that they heard gunfire as they got out of their patrol cars, Wilcox said.

They found the three victims outside of a home and recovered a handgun from one of the men, he said.

The injured man was in serious condition Wednesday.
