LITTLE RIVER (April 7, 2014) Robert Serna, 47, of Temple, died Sunday night in a fiery three-vehicle crash on State Highway 95 near Acres Spur just north of Little River, Department of Public Safety Trooper Harpin Myers said Monday evening.
The crash was reported at around 8:40 p.m. Sunday.
Serna, who was driving a 1996 Thunderbird, was turning into a private driveway when a pickup truck hit his car, Myers said.
The force of the collision sent Serna’s car into the path of a northbound 2008 Honda Civic, with which the Thunderbird collided.
Serna was ejected from his car, which then caught on fire, Myers said.
Two people were injured in the crash, but their injuries weren’t life threatening, Myers said.
They were both taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Their names were not available Monday evening.
The highway was closed Sunday night while crews cleared the wreckage, but had reopened by midnight.
