KATY (February 22, 2014) Authorities in Harris County were investigating Saturday following an after-school brawl that sent one high school student to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Dozens of students were involved in the melee Friday after classes at Cypress Lakes High School, officials said.
Harris County Sheriff's Sgt. Richard Newby said it appeared the wounded student was targeted and that the fight may have been connected to gang activity.
Neighbors say 50 to 60 high school students were involved.
Most of them scattered after several gunshots rang out and the student was wounded.
No one has been arrested and the gun used in the shooting has not been recovered.
