MERIDIAN (July 7, 2012) - Brandon Anderson, 20, of Glen Rose died in the hospital after a two-car accident Friday night in Meridian.
The accident happened at 6:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of State Highway 6 and State Highway 22 where a Pontiac Grand AM in which five people were riding and a pickup truck collided.
A 2-month-old baby was trapped in the backseat of the wrecked Pontiac and crews had to use the Jaws of Life to free the child.
The mother of the child and another baby were also in the back seat and sustained injuries.
The 2-month-old was flown to Cook Children’s Hospital in Ft. Worth and was listed in critical condition.
Anderson was flown to Harris Memorial Hospital were he was later pronounced dead from the injuries he sustained in the wreck.
The three other people in the Pontiac were taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.
Crews from the Meridian Police Department, Clifton Police Department, Bosque County Sheriff’s Office, North Bosque EMS and Texas Parks and Wildlife Police from Meridian State Park were dispatched to the scene.
The road was shut down for around an hour and a half while the wreckage was cleaned up.
The driver of the pickup was not injured
