Service Restored After Outage Leaves Thousands Of Residents In The Dark

KILLEEN (July 30, 2012)—More than 18,000 residents of Killeen were without power at one point Monday morning and the cause of the outage was evidently a dump truck that brought down lines at the construction site for Fort Hood's new hospital.

Oncor’s online outage map showed that at one point half-a-dozen outages affected 18,713 customers primarily on the west side of Killeen.

The biggest outages were on the area of Clear Creek Road where about 13,000 customers were without power and along South Fort Hood Street where about 5,500 customers were affected.

By 10 a.m. most service had been restored.
