KILLEEN (July 25, 2014) Neighbors and passersby came to the rescue Friday in Killeen after a car struck a bicycle on which two boys were riding, leaving one of the youngsters pinned beneath the Cadillac.
The 10-year-old boy was taken to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries, police spokesman, Ofelia Miramontez said.
The other boy, who’s 9-years-old, was riding on the back of the bicycle and was able to jump off before the car struck the bike, Miramontez said.
He was slightly injured when he fell to the pavement, she said.
The accident was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Cedarhill Drive and Westcliff Road.
The two boys were riding on the sidewalk along Westcliff and entered the intersection at the same time as a car approached on Cedarhill, she said.
The car and the bicycle collided in the intersection, she said.
