Pilot Killed When Plane Crashed In Texas Subdivision Identified

BULLARD (September 13, 2012)—The pilot who died in the crash of his small plane in an East Texas neighborhood was identified Thursday as Stephen Annis, 51, of Huntsville.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the plane Annis was flying went down Wednesday afternoon in a subdivision in the Bullard area, about 100 miles southeast of Dallas.

Authorities say Annis was alone in the plane, which crashed in a wooded area near Lake Palestine.

Pieces of wreckage were scattered among the trees and on a road.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
