HOUSTON (January 5, 2014) Several stray pit bulls killed one person and injured two others early Sunday in Houston, police said.
Investigators say the deadly mauling happened before dawn Sunday near an intersection in southeast Houston.
Two women and a man were injured in the attack.
They were taken to a hospital where one of the women was pronounced dead.
The other woman and the man were treated for less serious injuries, police said.
Animal control officials found one of the dogs, but two other pit bulls involved in the attack remained on the loose Sunday afternoon.
None of the dogs had a collar, authorities say.
The names of the victims and further details about the investigation weren't immediately released.
