Police: Convicted Texas Sex Offender Caught Videotaping Cheerleaders

SAN ANTONIO (February 11, 2013)—Convicted Texas sex offender Andrew Sanchez III, 60 of San Antonio was jailed Monday, accused of videotaping girls at a cheerleading competition in San Antonio.

Sanchez was held Monday on a charge of improper photography.

Bond was set at $7,500.

An off-duty police officer arrested Sanchez Saturday while working security at the American Cheer Power Southern National Championships in San Antonio after he noticed Sanchez shooting video.

The officer confronted Sanchez and determined he was a registered sex offender and that he didn’t have a child in the competition at the Alamodome.

Sanchez was convicted in 2008 of possession of child pornography and sentenced to three years in prison.
