Rusty Garrett here with the weekend outlook: Saturday, rain stays with us, but should taper off by Sunday, the drier of the two days.
SOUTHLAKE (May 23, 2013)—Police were looking Thursday for a gunman who killed a man who was sitting with his wife in a Range Rover in an SUV in the town square of Southlake.
Southlake police Chief Stephen Mylett says authorities are looking for a motive for the deadly shooting Wednesday night, but says it appears the 43-year-old victim was targeted.
The man, who was identified Thursday as Juan Jesus Guerrero Chapa, was an attorney from Mexico, Southlake police Chief Stephen Mylett said, and may have been affiliated with a law firm in McAllen.
His wife, who was in the driver’s seat, wasn’t injured.
Investigators say another vehicle pulled up to the SUV, a gunman got out and fired several shots then hopped back into his vehicle with another person and they drove away.
Police believe one of the two was wearing a mask.
Surveillance video from nearby businesses will be reviewed.
