LINCOLN, Neb. (July 1, 2014) Police investigators in Lincoln, Neb., have spoken with a Texas teenager who was critically injured in a fall from a sixth-floor hotel window and say they don’t think the fall was the result of foul play.

Brittany Turner, 18, of Houston, was in Lincoln with other high school students for the International Thespian Festival when she fell from the window at an Embassy Suites hotel early Sunday morning.

She landed on a second-floor balcony.

The window from which she fell was broken, but police Capt. David Beggs wouldn't release further details.

Turner’s mother, Lynn Hamilton, who rushed to Lincoln to be with her daughter, said her daughter is an accomplished actor and plans to attend Howard University in Washington this fall.
