Police: Texas Man Was Doing Drug Deal As Infant Daughter Drowned

SAN ANTONIO (June 25, 2014) Romeo Alexander Duncan, 21, of San Antonio, was jailed Wednesday in lieu of $150,000 bond, charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by omission in connection with the death of his 11-month-old daughter.

Duncan’s daughter, Rubi Lynn, drowned in her bathwater on June 2, police said.

Duncan first told police he was giving her a bath, left for a few seconds to get her clothes and returned to find her under the water, an affidavit says, but then later changed his story about how long he was away.

Sgt. Javier Salazar says it appears Duncan was engaged in a drug deal over the phone when the girl drowned.
