Police Seek Public's Help To ID Debit Card Theft Suspect

KILLEEN (January 10, 2014) Killeen police were asking the public to help identify a woman they believe stole a debit card and used it to make purchases without the owner’s permission.

In a news release issued by Killeen police, spokeswoman Carroll Smith said officers were sent November 16 to an address in the 1400 block of Stan Schlueter Loop on a burglary of a vehicle report.

The victim told officers that while she was attending a birthday party she had been contacted by her bank about the possible fraudulent use of her debit card, Smith said.

When she walked outside to her car she noticed the passenger side window of her car had been broken out and her purse was missing.

By the time the victim called her bank back to report her card was stolen, her card had been used at a Walgreens and at a Mickey’s store, Smith said.

Police have provided surveillance photos of a suspect and are asking that anyone who might recognize the person in the photos contact Killeen police at Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477), go online to bellcountycrimestoppers.com or text BELLCO and a message to 274637.
