TEMPLE (January 25, 2013)—Luis Adre Sauceda, 20, of Temple, remained in the Bell County Jail Friday in lieu of bonds totaling $11,500 after a series of incidents that started with an attack on a local woman and ended in a brief struggle with officers.

He’s charged with assault, public intoxication, resisting arrest, failure to identify, escape from custody and interference with an emergency call.

The charges stem from incidents that started with a report of a violent domestic disturbance in the 100 block of North 17th Street in which a man assaulted a woman, causing minor injuries.

At one point during the disturbance, the woman tried to call police, but the man wrested the phone away from her, police said.

The woman fled to the nearby home of a relative, but the man followed and attacked a friend of the victim’s family who tried to intercede, police said.

The man fled, but a short time later, officers found him in an intoxicated state at the CEFCO convenience store at 605 North 3rd St.

The man provided fictitious information when officers asked for his name and date of birth and then ran when confronted about the information, police said.

Officers caught him, but he resisted as they attempted to handcuff him.

No one was injured in the struggle.
