WACO (May 8, 2013)—A collision involving a passenger car and a U.S. Postal Service truck caused a major gas leak Wednesday in Waco.

Police and firefighters responded at around noon Wednesday to the leak at the intersection of Chapel Road and Hewitt Drive.

The crash sent the Postal Service careening into a meter and a 6-inch control valve, which broke.

Firefighters were able to locate a valve to shut off the gas flow, but remained at the scene.

No one was injured and there were no major evacuations, an officer a the scene said.
