Motorcyclist Injured In Hit-And-Run Crash On Local Highway Identified

WACO (January 14, 2013)—Police Monday identified a motorcyclist who was seriously injured late Friday in a hit-and-run crash at a Waco highway intersection as Victor Padilla, 30.

He remained in critical condition Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Padilla was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Old Lorena Road approaching Highway 84 when the driver of a pickup truck pulling a cattle trailer west on the highway ran a red light.

Padilla’s motorcycle slammed into the pickup, whose driver didn’t stop after the accident.

Gatesville police later found the truck in Gatesville and authorities said evidence of the crash was from both the truck and trailer.

Police said Monday they had no information on the identity of the pickup’s driver and said no arrests have been made pending the outcome of the accident investigation.
